Maternity Photography in Dandenong Ranges

Hey, I’m Gill and I’m a lifestyle photographer. I live in the Outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, in Boronia and use the beautiful Dandenong Ranges as a backdrop for many of my maternity shoots. I have 2 kids who keep me very busy and are a constant source of inspiration behind my photographic work.

I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years and I love my job. I take a lot of pride in the photos I take and I love getting to tell people’s stories through photographs.

My daughter is 10 years old and she loves hearing stories from when she was a baby and looking at photos from this time. She also loves seeing my maternity photos and hearing about how she kicked me all night long. These maternity photos hold so much significance now and I’m so glad I got them done.

My family and I have lived in Boronia, within the city of Knox for over 5 years now and we love the area for different reasons. One of the main things that I love is that we’re close to the Dandenong Ranges. It’s an area we visit often as a family and is home to so many beautiful locations that I love using as backdrops for shoots. This can include maternity, newborn and family shoots. My most frequently used location within the Dandenong Ranges are in Kallista and Olinda. These locations look beautiful all year round and I genuinely love visiting them and photographing there.

What to wear is often a struggle but I’m happy to give you my advice on what works best and help you to decide. On the day of your maternity shoot I’ll be there to guide you and keep things as relaxed and laid back as possible to ensure we get the most relaxed and laid back photos of you. You are also more than welcome to bring your partner, soon-to-be-siblings or dogs, along to your maternity shoot.

Absolutely! The focus of a maternity shoot is to celebrate your bump and to document those quiet moments before baby arrives. Your partner can still come along and be in just a couple of the photos so that you have these memories documented.

Don’t worry, location scouting is one of my favourite things to do! I’ve got a handful of specific locations throughout the Dandenong Ranges that I shoot at frequently. This means I know each one well; I know the best times to photograph at them and when to get the best light. We can discuss these options and choose the best location for your maternity shoot.

You sure can! I have clients drive from all over Melbourne to the Dandenong Ranges for their maternity shoot. It creates such a beautiful backdrop for photos without needing to drive for hours and hours.
